NA delegation hosted by Syria's Grand Mufti

NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan’s delegation was hosted by Syria's Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun on November 25, as part of the official visit to Syria.

Welcoming his Armenian friends Syria's Grand Mufti highly assessed NA Speaker’s visit to Syria noting that the Armenians are brothers and sisters to the Syrian people. According to him, the Armenian nation is creative, and the Armenian community of Syria promotes Syria’s development and strengthening.

He hailed Armenia’s efforts towards establishment of peace in the region and expressed hope that other regional countries will also take steps to prevent wars, to establish stability. He wished prosperity to the Armenian people.

NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan thanked for a warm welcome and highly assessed Arab people’s support to the Armenian people at the tragic moment of Armenia’s history noting that the Armenian community of Syria is a strong bridge between the two countries and peoples. Thousands of Armenians sheltered by Syria built churches, cultural centers, schools and made a contribution to development of Syria’s multinational and multireligious civilization. According to Hovik Abrahamyan, Syria is the best example of intercultural and interrreligious dialogue, NA press office reports.
