Issue of using cluster bombs not closed
The issue of Azerbaijan’s use of cluster bombs against peaceful population in Artsakh has not been closed, Rector of V. Brusov State Linguistic University of Yerevan, political scientist Suren Zolyan told a news conference in Yerevan.
The expert stated that during the Karabakh war the Armenian side has repeatedly drawn international community’s attention to use of banned ammunition by Azerbaijani army, yet we received no serious response. Suren Zolyan reminded that being a member of Armenia’s Supreme Council, in the early 90s, he personally raised the issue when meeting with high-ranking European officials.
“While international organizations used double standards and condemned Azerbaijani side’s actions with brief formulations only,” expert said.
He advised the Armenian side to prepare relevant documents to apply to the International Court.
“These facts should be published and presented to relevant instances, including the International Court of Justice in The Hague.”
