Heads of Russian, Armenian regions to hold forum in Yerevan
An Interregional Cooperation Forum is scheduled to be held in early 2011 in Yerevan, attended by heads of regions of Russia and Armenia.
Andranik Nikoghosyan, Co-chair of the Russian-Armenian charitable organization Matter of Honor, head of the department on relations between Russian and Armenian regions of Rossotrudnichestvo representative office, had a series of meetings with heads of Russian regions to discuss preparation of the forum. Cooperation between Russian and Armenian regions is supported by the Embassy of Russia in Armenia headed by Ambassador Vyacheslav Kovalenko and representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo headed by Viktor Krivopuskov.
The forum is also supported by the Armenian President and Prime Minister. A major interregional exhibition focusing on innovation cooperation is due in the days of the forum.
Andranik Nikoghosyan told reporters in the Voronezh region Sunday that the forum will stimulate development of cultural, trade and economic ties between the Russian and Armenian regions. According to Nikoghosyan, the forum will boost small and medium-sized business and will create new jobs.
