President leaving for Astana
President Serzh Sargsyan is today leaving on working visit to Kazakhstan to attend the 7th summit of OSCE to be held between December 1 and 2 in Astana. As part of his visit, the President will also have bilateral meetings, President’s press office reports.
For the present, over 2500 official delegates are registered in Astana for the summit. All OSCE Member States have confirmed participation in the summit.
OSCE has been holding summits since its establishment, 1977. The last summit took place in 1999 in Istanbul. This year, one of the key intrigues of the summit is linked with the issue of Nagorno Karabakh settlement. OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev hosting OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Monday expressed hope that the summit will boost resolution of the conflict.
