Baku needs Ankara’s approval to resume war – expert
Azerbaijan cannot resume military operations without Turkey’s consent, Levon Hovsepyan, expert at the Institute of Political Research (IPR), told a news conference in Yerevan.
According to him, closed sources in Turkish and Azerbaijani expert circles say that Azerbaijan and Turkey have reached relevant secret agreement.
The expert said that Turkish Armed Forces seek to increase their role in Azerbaijan’s army.
L. Hovsepyan stressed that Azerbaijani servicemen study at Turkish military education institutions.
“Only in 2006, 1,130 Azerbaijani servicemen studied at Turkish military education institutions.”
In his words, Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces have a new officer staff with pro-Turkish and nationalist position.
