V. Karapetyan: NKR should be recognized unanimously
If Heritage faction’s bill On Recognition of Nagorno Karabakh is put to vote, it should be adopted unanimously, Vladimir Karapetyan, Armenian National Congress (HAK) external affairs spokesperson, told reporters in Yerevan.
According to him, starting international recognition of NKR from Armenia would be logical, however, we should withdraw the issue from the agenda if our political field is not yet ready to vote unanimously.
“Time for NKR recognition has not yet come, we have other more topical issues. There is no consensus in Armenia’s political field, so the bill is likely to be voted down,” he said.
According to Karapetyan, recognition of NKR independence will also have a negative impact on the negotiation process, that is why the Republican Party will not put to vote the bill.
