Conference “Efficient Customs Sector” opens in Yerevan
Conference “Efficient Customs Sector” kicked off in Yerevan today. The conference is organized by the Customs Brokers Association in cooperation with the State Revenue Committee of Armenia and OSCE Office in Yerevan. The event will focus on problems faced by customs sector and will discuss Association strategy.
“Customs broker institution is still in the establishment phase. Broker organizations started to register 4-5 years ago. 88 percent of brokers’ customers are legal entities, 12 percent natural persons,” Chairman of the Customs Brokers Association Hrayr Gyonjyan told reporters.
The conference is attended by Head of OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Sergey Kapinos, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan, Head of the European Commission Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger, representatives of state, public and international organizations.
The Customs Brokers Association was set up in 2010 April. The Association brings together over 40 customs organizations.
