U.S., Israel warn Iran against nuclear activities
The United States and Israel in the person of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defense Minister Edud Barak again warned Iran against nuclear activities and called on Iran to carry out its international commitments.
“The prospect of obtaining nuclear weapons by Iran is the biggest threat to Israel and the entire region. U.S. will do its utmost to hinder Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. We have imposed new tough sanctions which are already perceptible in Iran. The Iranian leadership faces a clear choice – fulfillment of international commitments or continuous isolation with its consequences,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a speech Friday evening addressing the situation in the Middle East. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak supported her opinion.
“Israel aims not to allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons…Iran seeks to obtain nuclear weapons,” he said.
Meanwhile Barak stressed that diplomacy should remain the only way to settle the situation over Iran, RIA Novosti reports.
