Medvedev promises to deal with instigators of Moscow disturbances
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has promised inevitable punishment for all those involved in mass disorders at Manezh Square in Moscow on Saturday. "And lastly – regarding the events at the Manezh. In the country at large, and specifically in Moscow - everything is under control. All troublemakers will face the consequences. All of them. Make no doubt about it", - “Interfax” quotes the President’s entry in his Twitter microblog.
On Saturday morning hundreds of soccer fans marched along Kronstadt boulevard to the scene of murder of their fellow-fan Yegor Sviridov. Later in the afternoon about five thousand fans gathered at the Manezh Square in Moscow for an unsanctioned rally. They threw firecrackers on the roadway, some clashed with the police. As a result of disorders in downtown Moscow 65 people were detained.
