Armenian should become second state language in Javakhk
Negative developments were observed in the education field in Javakhk this year, member of Armenia’s parliament Shirak Torosyan told a news conference in Yerevan.
He reminded that Armenian classes were reduced while Georgian classes were increased at Javakhk schools which affects the way of schoolchildren’s thinking, they start thinking Georgian.
The parliamentarian reminded the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities (FCNM) of the Council of Europe which exactly stipulates language rights of national minorities.
“Armenian should become the second state language in Javakhk,” Torosyan stressed.
