Organizers of Minsk riots detained
Organizers of the riots in Minsk were detained, the Interior Ministry of Belarus reported, according to RIA Novosti.
They are facing charges under Article 293 of the Criminal Code “Organization of mass unrest and participation in it.” Maximum penalty for organization of mass unrest is 15 years.
The crowd was breaking everything on its way, resisting the legitimate representatives of the authorities, Interior Minister Anatoly Kuleshov told the ONT TV Channel. The Interior Ministry suspects certain people of organizing the riots. Their names have not yet been disclosed. The names of those who urged the crowd to the outrage will be made public in about 24 hours, the minister said.
Riots did not start in Oktyabrksaya Square, or Independence Square. They started around at 19.00 in the vicinity of Nemiga Street where one of the candidates began preparing for what happened today.
