CSTO concerned over increase in Azerbaijan’s military budget
CSTO is concerned over increase in Azerbaijan’s military budget, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha stated.
“Disproportionate increase in Azerbaijan’s military budget is alarming,” Bordyuzha said at an international conference in Moscow.
According to him, in the Caucasus region, Armenia, a CSTO member state, is under “constant information pressure.”
Meanwhile, Bordyuzha said Tbilisi’s anti-Russian hysteria and restoration of Georgia’s military potential destabilize the situation in the Caucasus region, Interfax reports.
“Position of the Georgian authorities, anti-Russian hysteria and restoration of military potential with the support of leading Western countries do not promote stabilization of situation in the region,” Bordyuzha said.
Besides, according to CSTO Secretary General, “events in the North Caucasus republics, manifestations of extremism in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachaevo-Cherkessia and Chechnya destabilize the regional situation.”
