Adoption of Armenian Genocide Resolution more important for U.S.
The Resolution on Armenian Genocide (H Res 252) was not included in U.S. Congress plenary session agenda but theoretically it can still be placed on the agenda, Armina Darbinyan, Regional Director of the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA), told reporters in Yerevan.
Irrespective of developments on the Armenian Genocide Resolution, AAA will keep its efforts in that issue, A. Darbinyan said.
According to the speaker, the issue of Genocide is not on shaky grounds, it is not an issue to be solved using controversy between Turkish and Israeli lobby. It is a human rights issue to be secured in a correct, honest way, irrespective of political developments.
“For the United States, for Barack Obama, adoption of the Armenian Genocide Resolution is even more important than for us,” Darbinyan concluded.
