Armenian economy enters positive phase
The 2.6 percent economic growth observed in the 11 months of 2010 was resulted not by economic development but rather by rehabilitation processes in some economic sectors, former President of CBA Bagrat Asatryan told a news conference.
“These indicators are mostly conditioned by industrial sector - mining industry growth provided by the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine, due to unprecedented growth in global prices for copper,” Asatryan said.
According to the expert, in general, Armenia’s economy has entered into a positive phase, though we are completing the year with “grey figures.”
“The external factors are positive. The point is that Armenia should find a model to come out of the current situation. The country faces depression and needs system changes,” expert said.
