CS: A lot of overdue drugs, cases of false drug marking revealed
Polyclinics purchase drugs within state order at higher prices than distributor companies sell them to drugstores, Hovhannes Hovsepyan, the Head of the Control Service of the President of the Republic of Armenia, told reporters in Yerevan adding that the Control Service continues studies in polyclinics and is going to convene a meeting at President’s office upon the completion of the checks.
“Drugs are brought to Armenia under the guise of humanitarian aid, with drug titles not registered in Armenia, lacking complete quality and security expertise, quality certificate, producer name, validity date."
In 2010, the Control Service checked licensing conditions of Ministry of Health drugstores. Studies were conducted at 96 small drugstores. H. Hovsepyan said the studies revealed 177 cases of violations in license contracts. 471 titles of unregistered and overdue drugs were revealed and transferred to the Ministry of Health for liquidation.
A lot of overdue drugs, cases of false drug marking were revealed, according to H. Hovsepyan.
There are many cases when addressees do not receive humanitarian drugs since these drugs are registered to unknown names and sold, the official said.
