US State Department: Hall Talayan is in Turkey

The US citizen, who has, as if, been arrested in Iran on suspicion of spying, is now in Turkey, and is safe, informs the Reuters news agency referring to the US state department.

U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said U.S. diplomats had contacted the woman in Turkey by telephone.

"She is safe and did not request further assistance from us," he told reporters. "As far as we're concerned, this case is closed."

On January 6 the Media spread information about a 55-year-old American woman, Hall Talayan arrested in Iran on suspicion of spying. There was mentioned as if she had arrived in Iran from Armenia. On January 7 commenting on the information spread by the Media head of the National Security Service press center Artsvin Baghramyan stated that a person with such name did not enter and thus neither left Armenia.
