WB to continue cooperation with Armenia
The World Bank cooperates with Armenia’s government on strengthening competitiveness, market liberalization, development of mining industry, protection of environment, Jean-Michel Happi, the World Bank Country Manager for Armenia, told reporters in Yerevan.
“The World Bank portfolio in Armenia includes 18 active programs, with bank’s general liabilities since 1992 amounting to USD 1bn 433m,” Happi said.
According to him, the World Bank will continue cooperation with Armenia’s government, with revision of the cooperation plan with Armenia for the coming 2 years.
Under the First Development Policy Operation (DPO) for Armenia, WB provided USD 60m to Armenia in 2009. The Second Operation will be approved this year.
