Russia detains more than 300 illegal immigrants over past weekend
The Federal Migration Service detained more than 300 foreign citizens after checking trade points in Moscow, Interfax reports quoting spokesperson for the Federal Migration Service Moscow department Zalina Kornilova.
According to her, the Migration Service officials checked over 1,300 trade points in Moscow over the past weekend detaining 312 foreign citizens for violation of the Russian immigration legislation.
“In most cases, the immigrants violated the ban on foreign citizens’ engagement in trade. In some other cases, foreign citizens were subsidiary workers in trade points while they had no permission to work in Russia,” Kornilova said.
