President gave exact assessments in Cyprus – parliamentarian

In Cyprus, our President gave exact assessment to Armenian-Cyprian bilateral relations and situation in Armenia, member of the RPA parliamentary faction Lernik Alexanyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

He reminded that the Armenian-Turkish talks had started with Armenian side’s statement on the necessity of negotiating without preconditions.

In return, Chairman of the Union of Political Scientists Hmayak Hovhannisyan said that rather tough assessments were given in Cyprus.

“The assessments were meanwhile self-critical as the Armenian-Turkish normalization process is over,” he said.

According to Hovhannisyan, President Sargsyan’s tough assessments were conditioned by the country where the President was speaking, as well as by the current situation.

“The football diplomacy, in essence, is dead, and the epitaph was voiced by Serzh Sargsyan,” he said.
