Obama, Mubarak discuss situation in Near East, Tunisia
U.S. and Egyptian Presidents Barack Obama and Hosni Mubarak had a phone conversation discussing the situation in the Near East and in Tunisia, as well as the January 1 attack in Alexandria outside a Coptic Church, ITAR-TASS reports citing the White House.
Obama extended his condolences to President Mubarak and Egyptian people on the horrifying terrorist attack and called on all sides to relieve the tension and develop relations between all regions.
Obama expressed concern over Tunisia events and expressed an opinion that the interim government should observe human rights and hold free and honest elections.
