Twitter banned in British Parliament
Members of British Parliament will have to keep their tweets to themselves, at least while they’re sitting in the House of Commons.
House of Commons Deputy Speaker Lindsay Hoyle ruled on Wednesday that MPs should not be using Twitter while sitting in said House. His move to ban the popular microblogging service from the UK’s lower house was prompted by a Labor Party MP (Kevin Brennan) demanding via Twitter for a member of the rival Liberal Democrat Party (shadow education secretary Andy Burnham to be exact) to explain why he refused to take a particular meeting, the Financial Post reports.
