Armenia ready for any development on Karabakh – S. Sargsyan

During his interview to the Ekho Moskvy Russian radio station Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was asked whether Armenia is ready for a possible war. The President said that war is not the most preferable way but we will have no choice.

“Only our wish to resolve the issue through peaceful means may not be sufficient. If there is no other way out, we will appear in the situation of the early 90s. We should defend our population with all our resources,” President stated.

“I have repeatedly said that we are against war. But it does not mean that we are afraid of war. We need to defend ourselves. We just have no other way out. Because if by a miracle Karabakh appears under the control of Azerbaijan even if for an hour, no Armenian will remain there. Is there a difference in how to lose Karabakh? However, for a man living in Karabakh there is a big difference between escape and ability to defend his home,” S. Sargsyan said.
