Initial causes of aircraft crash in Azerbaijan made public
A Su-25 Frogfoot close air support aircraft crashed on Thursday in the Kurdamir district of Azerbaijan, local media reported.
The Trend news agency cited Azeri Defense Ministry's spokesman Eldar Sabiroglu as saying that the crew ejected from the plane and survived the crash without injury.
The names of the pilots of the military aircraft are known, according to APA.
APA reports quoting military sources that they are officers of the Air Defense Forces – Lieutenant-Colonel Zaur Yusifli and Captain Khayyam Shukurov. The pilots were not injured in the crash.
The accident happened while the aircraft was landing. According to the initial causes, the landing gears were not lowered.
