T. Davtyan: Government fights rising food prices
Armenia’s government uses all tools at its disposal to fight rising food prices, Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan told reporters while visiting Yerevan’s Mars factory.
Note that flour prices have jumped again (by 3 dollars per sack), hitting a high of AMD13,000 against former AMD9,000. Compared to 2009, the prices went up about 40 percent.
“Currently government discusses additional mechanisms and tools to restrain prices. We will inform the public about the mechanisms we are going to use as we decide on this issue,” Minister said adding that the Armenian President and Prime Minister keep their focus on this issue.
