Iranian plane en route to Syria forced to land in Turkey
Turkish air forces forced a cargo plane carrying military supplies from Iran to Syria to land in southeast Turkey on Wednesday after receiving a tip-off warning of nuclear weapons onboard, Xinhua reported citing local media.
The plane encountered with two F-16 war planes of Turkish air forces after entering Turkey's air space and landed at an airport in the Diyarbakir province, reported local Dogan news agency.
The plane was being investigated at the airport and civil defense experts were sent there for probe, the report said.
An official at the press office of Turkey's Foreign Ministry said they could not confirm the report at present when asked for comments on phone. The General Staff is not immediately available for comment, either.
