Levon Aronian wins blindfold tournament ahead of schedule
Levon Aronian beat Veselin Topalov in the blindfold game in Round 10 at the Amber Rapid and Blindfold Chess Tournament in Monte Carlo, Monaco. He drew with Topalov in the rapid game.
Before the last round, Aronian has already won the champion’s title in the blindfold tournament where he has scored 8 points and is 2 points ahead of Viswanathan Anand who comes second. Aronian will not be able to win the rapid tournament since he comes second and is 2 points behind Magnus Carlsen.
Levon Aronian keeps leading the table with combined results. He has scored 14.5 points. Magnus Carlsen comes second with 13.5 points. Viswanathan Anand comes third with 11 points.
Levon Aronian will play with Sergey Karjakin today.
