Security Council meets in Artsakh
On March 29, President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan chaired a meeting of the Security Council. Issues of food security and results of the joint command staff manoeuvers of the armed forces and security structures held from 14-18 February, 2011 were on the agenda of the meeting.
Artsakh Prime Minister Ara Haroutyunyan delivered a report on food security. Minister of Agriculture Armo Tsatouryan, Minister of Economic Development Karen Yesayan, Director of the Countryside and Agriculture Assistance Fund Vahram Baghdasaryan gave speeches at the meeting.
Taking into consideration strategic significance of safeguarding food security for Artsakh Bako Sahakyan noted that although much work had been done in this direction there are still issues of vital importance, which require urgent and comprehensive solution.
The President assigned the Cabinet of Ministers to elaborate programs of safeguarding food security and report periodically on the process of its realization.
Defense Minister Movses Hakobyan delivered a report on the second issue on the agenda. Heads of the power structures gave speeches.
B. Sahakyan assigned the Cabinet of Ministers and appropriate bodies, which participated in the military manoeuvers, to take measures for eliminating the revealed shortcomings and report periodically on the activities carried out, Artsakh President’s press office reported.
