French MP expresses support for self-determination of nations
According to the information of the Permanent Mission of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to France, Deputy of the French Parliament, Mayor of Alfortville city Rene Ruke published an article – 'Nations' Spring' - in the municipal newspaper, expressing his support to the nations seeking self-determination.
“The last weeks' events around the Arabic nations' struggle for their independence let learn numerous lessons from this. The movement for freedom, the fate of which is being publicly determined, reminds us of the necessity of comprehending and respecting nations’ aspirations, as the desire for democracy is a human value in all the parts of the world.
In this context, let me remind of the nation living in another region of the world – the Nagorno Karabakh Armenians bravely struggling against Azerbaijan, which tries to suppress the will of this friendly-to-us nation to live free on its native land, in its own Republic. Today, 95 years after the unpunished Armenian Genocide, I confirm more than ever the inalienable right of Armenians to self-determination,” the French Deputy noted, in particular, in his article.
He called upon his country and the French diplomacy to respect “the nations seeking lasting peace and heroically struggling for the achievement of this,” NKR MFA Press Service said.
