Armenian business expands to Artsakh
The 11th congress of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) has kicked off in Yerevan today, attended by Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Vahe Davtyan, NKR Minister of Economic Development Karen Yesayan, IT experts.
Karen Yesayan welcomed the activities of UITE. He noted that the organization of a visit to Armenian ICT companies for specialists from NKR last summer was a great achievement.
“Armenian business expands to Artsakh,” the Minister said.
According to him, Artsakh’s business climate is favorable for it.
“Tax sector creates certain preconditions, with two important factors – income tax and profit tax, which are softer than those in Armenia.”
UITE President Hovhannes Avoyan said that the Union has recorded quality growth, has found interesting solutions, many companies have achieved good results.
“We held a robotics competition. This year UITE has also established a competition of games and mobile software,” H. Avoyan said.
He said that the Union has agreed with the Defense Ministry on the use of IT in the army.
Note that the UITE congress will adopt strategy for 2011-2013 and 20-month action plan. Another 3 organizations are expected to join the Union, raising the number of UITE member enterprises to 53.
