Armenian-Chinese business forum kicks off in Yerevan
The Armenian-Chinese business forum has kicked off in Yerevan, initiated by the Armenian Ministry of Economy and the Armenian Development Agency (ADA).
The opening of the forum was attended by member of the Standing Committee of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Li Changchun, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Zhong Shan, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan.
The forum hosts 22 companies representing various economic sectors.
“The forum is a good platform to discuss expansion of economic cooperation. Our relations have been developing dynamically recently, and China has become an important business partner for Armenia,” Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan said. According to him, trade turnover between Armenia and China increased by 44 percent in 2010.
Armenia and China have simultaneously joined the World Trade Organization. The Minister stressed that our legislations meet the international standards, and there is good ground for economic cooperation.
“We have high-level political relations with China, and we must seek to raise our economic relations to a higher level,” according to T. Davtyan.
