Nazik Avdalyan to be operated on in Erebuni Hospital
World champion in weightlifting, Nazik Avdalyan suffered a major car crash yesterday. She was rushed to Gulbenkian Hospital in Gyumri, and in the evening was transferred to Erebuni Hospital in Yerevan with rib fracture and spinal injury.
At the moment she is at the reanimation department in Erebuni Hospital, our correspondent was informed by the hospital. After examining her, doctors prescribed medical treatment for her to overcome her psychological condition and to get ready for the operation.
Nazik Avdalyan’s health condition is stable. Erebuni Hospital confirmed the conclusion that her injuries are of medium gravity.
For the present, doctors are not able to say whether the weightlifter can continue her sports career. It will become clear only after her operation. If necessary, the sports leadership of Armenia is ready to organize her treatment abroad.
