Armenian police use experience of Denmark, Czech Republic
The Armenian police reform program is implemented in 11 directions, Deputy Chief of the Armenian Police Arthur Osikyan said at the parliamentary hearings.
Reforms are planned in the educational, legislative and other fields of police, he noted.
“We adopted more than 70 legal acts in 2010. We paid informative visits to four European countries, held 200 scheduled events,” Osikyan reported.
According to him, the reforms envisage establishment of a police college, police points have been already created in the communities of Yerevan.
“We have used the experience of Denmark and Czech Republic. Police points are expected to respond to calls and provide useful services to citizens,” Deputy Chief of Police said.
OSCE provides technical assistance in establishing police points in the communities and the construction will be implemented with local funds, the official added.
