Turkey doesn't respect its own commitments – FM
“It’s regrettable that the final steps were not coordinated and the significant agreements were left incomplete. I hope this issue will remain on the agenda and when the situation is more favorable, we may return to the issue and reanimate the process,” Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy told a news conference in Yerevan, talking about the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement.
Touching upon the process of accession of Turkey to the European Union, the EU official said: “A country seeking membership of the European Union along with compulsory and technical requirements must have good relations with its neighbors. We hope Turkey will not be an exception.”
Making a comment to Turkish Foreign Minister’s interview to an Armenian news agency, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said it was nothing else but unseriousness.
“Turkey once again put forward preconditions for ratification of the protocols. Thus Turkey does not respect its own international commitments,” according to Nalbandian.
