64th Cannes Film Festival opens today
The 64th Cannes Film Festival opens today. The festival features 86 full-length movies, 54 out of which are included in the official program, Vesti.ru reports.
The main program includes 20 movies selected from almost 1,500 films. France has presented four movies, Denmark, Italy, Japan two movies, U.S., Spain, Great Britain, Belgium, Israel, Finland, Austria, Germany, Turkey, and Romania one movie each.
As President of the Jury, Robert De Niro (actor, director, producer and co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival), will head the Feature Films jury.
Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris’ will open the 64th Cannes Festival.
The film, the 41st feature-length work that Mr. Allen has directed, is a romantic comedy whose cast includes Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates and Adrien Brody, though one cast member, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, has received a bit more attention than the others.
The full Cannes Film Festival runs through May 22.
