Microsoft Innovation Center opens in Yerevan

Microsoft Innovation Center has opened at the Armenian State University of Architecture and Construction today. The opening ceremony was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch, Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, representatives of Microsoft, Dell.

“The IT sector is ranked among the most dynamically developing branches of economy. The government focuses its attention on this sector, which has a direct impact on the entire economy and system of government,” Tigran Davtyan said. According to him, the government attaches importance to involvement of transnational companies in the development of the IT sector.

In return, Marie Yovanovitch noted that the U.S. supports cooperation between the governmental and private sectors.
