Z. Raczyński supports NK conflict resolution based on compromise
“The situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line is strained, it is the dividing line between the two countries, and 11 soldiers from NKR were killed on the contact line this year. I believe peaceful talks and compromise are the best way to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdzisław Raczyński told reporters in Yerevan.
The Ambassador called on the two sides to show strong will and noted that the talks must proceed within the OSCE Minsk Group.
According to Raczyński, cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership does not aim to settle conflicts in the South Caucasus, it is purely a partner program.
The Ambassador informed that the Polish President prepares for visit to Armenia, probably in July.
“Poland will hold the Presidency in the Council of the European Union on July 1, 2011, and we prepare Polish President’s visits to Armenia and other regional countries at the beginning of our presidency,” Raczyński said.
