SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meets in Almaty
The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has kicked off in Almaty today.
According to Interfax, the meeting is attended by the Foreign Ministers of China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental mutual-security organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Iran, Pakistan, India and Mongolia hold observer status in SCO while Belarus and Sri Lanka hold status of interlocutors.
