Erdogan's AK seen cruising to re-election - poll
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's AK Party is on course to easily win a third consecutive term in a parliamentary election on June 12, according to an opinion poll published on Wednesday.
The survey conducted on May 5-12 by polling company IKSara, and published in the opposition Aksam newspaper, showed the AK Party winning 45.5 percent of the vote, below the 46.6 percent it scored in the last general elections in 2007, Reuters reported.
The opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has 30.5 percent of the vote, Aksam said.
The poll had a margin of error 0.2 percent.
Erdogan has promised to overhaul Turkey's constitution, written in the 1980s under military tutelage after a coup, if his party wins a strong mandate in the June 12 vote.
