Georgian opposition plans protests
The Georgian People’s Assembly, an opposition movement strongly backed by ex-parliamentary speaker Nino Burjanadze, announced that it would launch protest rallies marking “beginning of final struggle against Saakashvili’s criminal regime” on May 21.
The movement said that its activists would start gathering at three separate locations in Tbilisi on May 21 and then march in the direction of the Freedom Square where a protest rally would be held at 3pm on that day. A simultaneous protest rally is planned in Batumi.
