IMF chooses Carstens, Lagarde
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has shortlisted candidates to take over as the managing director of the fund, BBC reported.
French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde and Governor of the Bank of Mexico Agustin Carstens will fight it out for the top job.
Grigory Marchenko of Kazakhstan and Trevor Manuel of South Africa said they would not stand for the job.
The post became available after the former head of the IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigned.
