Varuzhan Akobian wins National Open
Armenian GM Varuzhan Akobian scored 5 points out of 6 and took the first prize in the National Open in Las Vegas, U.S. GM Loek Van Wely (Netherlands) had the same result, but he was behind Akobian in the tiebreak.
Another Armenian grandmaster, Melikset Khachiyan was 0.5 points behind the first prize winner.
The tournament hosted 86 chess players, according to armchess.am.
