Armenian mountaineers to climb Iranian Mount Demavend
A mountaineering team of the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation (7 people) is leaving for Iran to climb the highest mountain in the country, Mount Demavend (5671 meters), at the invitation of the Iranian Mountaineering Federation.
This is officially the first team international mountain climbing action by Armenian mountaineers over the past 15 years, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said, and the first serious attempt to restore Armenian mountaineering traditions.
