Kalka Mail tragedy: Toll touches 66
The death toll in Sunday's train tragedy in Uttar Pradesh rose to 66 on Monday as rescue workers remain engaged to bring out more bodies trapped inside the capsized bogies of the ill-fated Kalka Mail, indiablooms.com reports.
More bodies are inside, said an army official engaged in supervising the operation at the accident spot at Malwan near Kanpur.
Fifteen coaches of the Kalka Mail jumped track while moving at around 108 km per hour on Sunday at 1220 pm.
Army personnel and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) men are trying to clear the debris and retrieve the bodies but cutting the metals.
S2 coach is one of the worst affected and badly mangled one and more bodies can be inside it, officials said.
