Hurricane Dora grows and approaches Mexican coast
Hurricane Dora has grown into a Category 2 storm in the Pacific off the Mexican coast with top sustained winds of 105 miles per hour (165 kph).
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Wednesday the hurricane’s eye was centered about 215 miles (355 kilometers) south-southwest of Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, and moving west-northwest at 17 mph (28 kph), the Washington Post reports referring to the Associated Press.
The fourth hurricane of the eastern Pacific season was forecast to stay offshore as it moved parallel to the coast for the next day or so. It could strengthen more before weakening begins on Friday, forecasters said, news24.com.
