Protests resumed in Syria
Protests have erupted in several cities across Syria after Muslims performed prayers at the start of Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of Ramadan, the sources report.
The Local Co-ordination Committees activist network said seven people were killed on Tuesday morning.
Six of the deaths occurred in the southern province of Deraa and one in Homs, the network said.
Syrian security forces reportedly also opened fire on protesters in the town of Deir ez-Zor.
Large demonstrations were reported in cities including Deraa, Idlib, Hama and Homs, and in Damascus suburbs.
