Spanish PM dissolves parliament
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has dissolved the Spanish Parliament. A date for early elections was set by the Prime Minister last summer. They were to be held on the 20th of November but apparently things could not wait for that date, the Voice of Russia said.
Until the vote the functions of parliament will be carried out by a permanent legislative committee.
In the case of the deteriorating economic situation, they can approve the necessary urgent reforms.
According to surveys, the Socialist Party, led by the Prime Minister will not be able to rely on the goodwill of the voters and will have to pay for unpopular austerity measures.
