Romania tries to keep balance in region – Ambassador
Romania is interested in stability in the Caucasus and in the Black Sea basin, Romanian Ambassador to Armenia Crina Rodica Prunariu told a news conference in Yerevan.
According to the Ambassador, Romania and Armenia cooperate within the European Union and NATO. The Presidents of Armenia and Romania have met nine times, besides, the Defense Ministers also meet frequently.
Romania tries to keep political balance between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Ambassador stressed, however, surely Romania has closer economic ties with Azerbaijan.
Regarding NATO’s stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Crina Rodica Prunariu noted that NATO has repeatedly said that the Nagorno-Karabakh problem is not within its competence.
