Tigran Sargsyan receives Lebanese Parliament Speaker
Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri is on an official visit to Armenia. He was hosted by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister welcomed the guest and expressed confidence that Nabih Berri’s visit to Armenia will boost relations between Armenia and Lebanon. Tigran Sargsysn stressed that the bilateral economic relations are inferior to high-level political ties. He said that a business forum will be held as part of the Lebanese Parliament Speaker’s visit to Armenia.
The two sides named the sectors for efficient economic cooperation – light industry, pharmaceutics, jewelry, tourism, and attached importance to expansion of cooperation between the relevant organizations in the public and private sectors.
In return, Nabih Berri said that the Lebanese President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will visit Armenia in the near future. According to him, the Armenian community has made a great contribution to development of Lebanon and is a reliable bridge between the two friendly countries and peoples, the government’s press office reported.
