Cost of “STAR social basket” decreased

On October 12 the cost of STAR social basket is 50 432.2 dr., which is 0.02 % lower than the cost of that on 28.09.11 (50 441.5dr).

Price changes during this period are associated with seasonal increases in prices of fruits and vegetables (cabbage - 10dr, cauliflower - 180dr, beans - 150dr, orange - 150dr, cucumbers - 200dr, eggplant - 20dr, peach - 140dr, black plum - 170dr and tomatoes - 10dr) as well as the increase of goods by the suppliers (chicken ham - 10dr, vodka - 170dr and tea - 150dr, washing powder - 30dr and corn oil - 50dr). As a result of it, the cost of the basket increased by 0.32% which is 160.5 drams.

Meanwhile in this period, the prices of some goods were lowered by STAR trade chain such as cheese - 150dr, milk - 15dr, assorted greens - 40dr, garlic - 100dr, оriental persimmon - 400dr, carrots - 10dr, onions - 90dr, apple - 10dr, pepper - 20dr, mandarin 150dr, pomegranate - 100dr, pear - 110dr, potatoes - 270dr. As a result, the cost of "STAR social basket" decreased by 0.34%.

Thus, compared to the previous period, the total value of the basket fell by 0.02%.

Note that «STAR social basket» includes 180 goods of first consumption with only a minimum trading margin stated on them. The cost of «STAR social basket» is calculated taking into consideration the prices of the goods included in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the share of goods is calculated according to the goods consumption in STAR trade chain.
