M. Ahmadinejad stressed importance of Iraqi groups' unity

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed solidarity and unification of all Iraqi groups.

Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Iraqi Kurdistan region's President Masoud Barzani stressed Iraqi groups' unity for progress and security in the country, isna.ir reports.

"Iran supports progress, development and security of Iraq and believes that it benefits the whole region," Ahmadinejad said.

Barzani on his part stressed further mutual cooperation and said, "Iran and Iraq should take steps towards progress and security."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran's security is quite considerable for Iraq and it believes that lack of security in joint borders harms the two countries." He expressed readiness for mutual cooperation in borders.

Barzani arrived in Iran Saturday and held talks with some Iranian officials, the Iranian source reported.
